Hue gets the attention. Sheen decides whether the wall wipes clean or shows every roller lap. inStyle Painting DFW consults on sheen for interiors and exteriors in Allen and North Dallas. There is not one right answer for every room.

Matte and flat

Flatter sheens hide drywall texture and small patches. They are a good look in bedrooms and ceilings. They do not wipe as easily. Hallways, kids’ rooms, and kitchens usually want more washability than a dead-flat wall gives you.

Eggshell

Eggshell is the default we recommend for a lot of occupied interiors: a little more cleanability than flat, still not shiny. Open plans in Frisco and McKinney builder homes often look even in eggshell because the sheen does not spotlight every joint in the afternoon light.

Satin

Satin on trim, doors, and some baths. It takes fingerprints less than flat. On a large wall it can show more texture. We use it where you asked for wipe-down, not as a whole-house default unless you want that look.

Exteriors

North Texas UV is harder on some sheens than others. We pick exterior sheen with the product and the elevation, not from an interior chart. Try colors in the Sherwin Williams Visualizer, then we confirm on site before we open cans. Call (469) 777-8281 or request an estimate.
