Painting in Plano, TX
Plano is next door to our Allen shop, and it is the oldest large suburb in this cluster. That means more 1980s and 1990s brick, more original popcorn, more oak cabinets, and more homeowners who have already lived through one cheap paint job. inStyle Painting & Remodeling DFW paints interiors and exteriors in Plano: walls, trim, cabinets, drywall, popcorn ceiling removal, garage floors, and power washing. Certified and insured. Sherwin Williams. By appointment. Call (469) 777-8281 or request a free estimate.
Painters in Plano
Plano painters get judged on whether they can make a 1992 two-story look cared for without pretending it is a 2020 Frisco spec home. East Plano and many 1980s–90s streets have smaller rooms, popcorn ceilings, honey oak, and trim that has been painted three times. West Plano and Legacy-area houses run larger, with more HOA control and more recent color trends. We are based in Allen, we quote Plano from a walk-through, and we do not use a Frisco palette on a 1990 ranch unless you ask for it and it fits the house.
Interior painting in Plano
Interior painting in Plano is often a full-house reset: walls, maybe ceilings after popcorn comes down, and a decision on whether the oak trim stays stained. Popcorn removal is more common here than in Frisco. We treat that as its own scope because of dust and the skim that has to happen before paint. Walls, when the offer applies, are $1 per square foot including Sherwin Williams paint, labor, and materials. Example: 2,000 square feet of walls is $2,000. Popcorn, cabinets, and heavy drywall repair are not in that number.
Plano kitchens still have a lot of original oak or builder maple. If the boxes are square, cabinet refinishing changes the room without a remodel. We spray where it makes sense and we mask the rest of the kitchen like we intend to cook in it next week.
Exterior painting in Plano
Plano exteriors are mostly brick that should stay brick, with faded beige or taupe siding in the gables, chalking trim, and garage doors that have taken hail. West-facing backs on streets without big trees take the worst UV. We wash, scrape, caulk the brick-to-trim joints that clay soil opens, and paint siding and trim in a Sherwin Williams exterior system. If your HOA has a list, we use it. Exterior quotes come from a walk-around, not from the wall-square-foot offer.
Plano neighborhoods
We estimate in Legacy, Willow Bend, Russell Creek, Pitman Creek, Kings Ridge, Whiffletree, Haggard, the older east Plano streets toward 15th and Parker, and west Plano toward the Tollway. Legacy and west Plano feel closer to Frisco: larger plans, more association rules. East Plano is established, tree-covered, and full of houses that have not had a serious paint job in a decade. A Willow Bend two-story and a 1980s one-story off Avenue K are different days of work. Name the neighborhood when you call.
Plano HOA considerations
West Plano and many planned communities (Legacy-area villages, golf-course streets, newer infill) expect architectural approval on exterior color. East Plano is mixed: some streets have an HOA, some do not. We never assume Plano is “no HOA.” Send us the guidelines if you have them. Brick stays unpainted unless you have written approval and you really want that fight. Interior paint is your business, not the association’s.
Common home styles
The Plano house we see most is a 1980s–1990s brick two-story or ranch with a composition roof, a garage that faces the street, and interior oak. You also get 1970s one-stories, 2000s west Plano plans that look more like Frisco, and a few traditional estates in Willow Bend. Inside: popcorn or knockdown, relatively low ceilings in the older stock, and more crown in the newer west. We match texture on patches so a 1994 wall does not get a shiny blotch of new mud.
Local climate considerations
Plano has more mature trees than Frisco, which helps some elevations and keeps others damp. Shade does not stop west-sun fade on the wall that still gets the afternoon. Clay soil still opens caulk. Older Plano paint jobs fail as peeling on south trim and chalking on siding, not as a dramatic one-season fade on a dark 2022 color. We prep to the failure you have.
Plano projects
We do not invent Plano job photos. Typical Plano work is full interiors on 1990s two-stories, popcorn removal, cabinet refinishing in original kitchens, and exterior trim on brick houses whose last paint was a faded beige. The gallery is labeled examples, not a Plano address book.
Plano customer testimonials
“Wow, it looks like a whole new house!”
That is the Plano-bylined note we have on the site. More company reviews are on Angi.
Plano FAQs
Do you remove popcorn in Plano?
Yes. It is a separate service from wall paint. We will tell you if the ceiling needs a skim before it can take a smooth paint job.
Can you paint my 1990s honey oak cabinets?
If the boxes are sound, yes. We quote cabinets after we see the doors, not from a photo of the island.
Is Plano on the $1 / sq ft wall offer?
When the offer applies, walls including professional Sherwin Williams paint, labor, and materials. A 2,000 square foot house is $2,000 to paint all walls. We confirm at the estimate.
